The UK's Biggest Nepali Football Tournament Is Back

The Gurkha Cup — the annual football tournament that brings together Nepalese teams from across the UK — returns to Aldershot Military Stadium on 24 May 2026, and it promises to be bigger than ever.

What Is the Gurkha Cup?

Started over a decade ago as a local tournament in Aldershot, the Gurkha Cup has grown into the UK's premier Nepalese football competition. Teams from London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Farnborough, and beyond compete for the trophy in what has become as much a community celebration as a sporting event.

When and Where

**Date:** Saturday 24 May 2026

**Venue:** Aldershot Military Stadium, Stadium Way, Aldershot, GU11 2DT

**Time:** Gates open 10:00am, first kick-off 11:00am, finals approximately 5:00pm

**Entry:** Free for all spectators

What to Expect Beyond the Football

The Gurkha Cup is as much about community as it is about sport. Expect:

- **Food stalls** serving authentic Nepali cuisine — momos, sel roti, chhoela, and more

- **Live entertainment** including music and cultural performances

- **Community stalls** from Nepalese businesses and organisations

- **Children's activities** throughout the day

- **Evening social** at a nearby venue (details TBC)

How to Get There

Aldershot Military Stadium is easily accessible by train (Aldershot station, 10 min walk) and has ample parking. From London Waterloo, trains run regularly taking approximately 60 minutes.

RSVP Free

Attendance is free — simply RSVP on the Nepalese Business Directory to let the organisers know you're coming and receive event updates.
