I'm opening a Nepali restaurant in Birmingham and struggling to find reliable wholesale suppliers for authentic ingredients — things like Himalayan timur, gundruk, sel roti mix, dhindo flour, and specific spices.
I've tried a few South Asian cash-and-carry wholesalers but they don't stock much specifically Nepali. Any suggestions?

The best sources I've found in the UK:
**Specialty importers**: There are a couple of small importers who specifically bring Nepali products — check Wembley and Southall markets, they often have suppliers delivering to shops.
**Online**: Himalayan Chef and several Amazon marketplace sellers stock good ranges of Nepali products including timur, sukeko maas, and various flours.
**Direct import**: Once your volume grows, it's worth contacting suppliers in Nepal directly through the Nepal Chamber of Commerce. Many will ship to the UK in bulk.
**Community networks**: The Nepali restaurant owners' WhatsApp groups are gold for this. I can add you to one if you message me.
In Birmingham specifically, the Ladypool Road area (Balti Triangle) has several South Asian grocers who stock items that overlap with Nepali cuisine. Not perfect but worth a look for some items.
Also try the Farmers Market route for some fresh items — you can sometimes source interesting mountain herbs and greens through specialist organic suppliers.
