Visitor visas for Nepali parents can be challenging but absolutely achievable with the right preparation. Here's what works based on my family's experience:
Your documents (as sponsor):
- Letter of sponsorship explaining your relationship, how long they'll stay, and that you'll cover all costs
- Bank statements for last 6 months showing stable income
- Proof of accommodation (mortgage statement or tenancy agreement)
- Evidence of your immigration status (British passport or BRP)
- Your payslips or employment contract
Their documents:
- Strong ties to Nepal — property ownership, employment letter, bank accounts, pension, other family members in Nepal
- Bank statements showing funds (even if you're sponsoring)
- Evidence of previous travel (any prior UK or other country visits really helps)
- Clean criminal record certificate
Key tip: The refusals often happen when the ECO believes the applicant won't return to Nepal. Your parents need to show strong reasons to return. If your father is retired with a pension, that's good. Property or land ownership is very helpful.
Consider getting a professional immigration consultant to review the application before submitting. Worth the fee for peace of mind.
