Chicken Momo

MediumNepal's most beloved street food — steamed dumplings filled with spiced minced chicken, served with spicy tomato achaar.

Ingredients
- 1For the dough: 2 cups plain flour, ½ cup warm water, pinch of salt
- 2500g minced chicken
- 31 onion, finely chopped
- 42 garlic cloves, minced
- 51 tsp ginger, grated
- 62 tbsp soy sauce
- 71 tsp sesame oil
- 8½ tsp pepper
- 9Fresh coriander
- 10For achaar: 3 tomatoes, 2 dried chillies, 1 tsp cumin
Method
- 1
Mix flour and water into a smooth dough. Rest 30 min covered.

Combine chicken with onion, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil and coriander.

Roll dough thin, cut into circles (8cm).

Place a teaspoon of filling in each circle. Pleat edges to seal.

Steam over boiling water 15–18 min until cooked through.

For achaar: roast tomatoes and chillies, then blend with cumin and salt.

Serve hot with achaar and fresh coriander.
